GPS watch for kids and iPhone: are they compatible?
Partager
This is one of the most frequently asked questions: "Will the watch work with my iPhone?" The short answer: yes. VelioKid watches work just as well with an iPhone as they do with an Android phone.
How does it work?
A GPS watch for children has its own SIM card. Therefore, it does not need to be permanently paired with the parent's phone, unlike a smartwatch for adults. The parent's phone is used only to manage the app.
The parent app is free and available on the App Store (iPhone) and Google Play (Android). In the app, you can:
- see your child's real-time location;
- create safe zones (home, school) and receive alerts;
- choose which contacts can call your child;
- receive SOS alerts;
- activate school mode;
- on the Pro, authorize or block individual apps, such as WhatsApp.
What if the two parents don't have the same phone?
No problem. One parent can use an iPhone and the other an Android: each simply installs the app on their own phone.
"Android compatible": what does that mean for the Pro?
On the VelioKid Pro, you will sometimes see mention of apps or an integrated App Store. This describes what the watch can do: it has its own app store. It does not mean the parent must have an Android phone. A parent with an iPhone can perfectly well use a VelioKid Pro.
What you need to get started
- A VelioKid Standard or Pro watch.
- The VelioKid data plan ($12.99/month, no contract).
- Your iPhone or Android phone, with the parent app installed.

In summary
Yes, VelioKid GPS watches work with iPhones. The parent app is free on the App Store and Google Play, and the watch operates independently thanks to its own SIM card.
